Our Philosophy

Our Educational Philosophy

At NWR, we believe it providing opportunities for people of all ages to learn more about our native wildlife. We know that people will protect only what they understand, and education will lead to a greater understanding of our precious wild animals and wild spaces.

The vast majority of the wild animals we receive each year are injured or orphaned due to human action. It is only through education that we will teach people to live in harmony with wildlife, to avoid causing unintentional harm, and to respect wild animals and our native environment. This makes education a central part of our mission.
