Volunteer Orientation
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees must submit a Volunteer Application Form and be approved by our Volunteer Coordinator in order to attend. Available dates will be communicated via email.
Volunteer Orientations are in-person, on-site training classes from 1pm-6pm at the Baldwin Wildlife Center located at 9777 M St. Omaha, NE 68127.
Completing one of our Volunteer Orientations is the first step in becoming a Nebraska Wildlife Rehab volunteer. Volunteers are required to go through these initial orientations in order to become eligible for any other trainings, such as our Mammal Nursery Training or Humane Society Transporter Training.
Volunteer orientations include a 2.5-3 hour PowerPoint presentation where attendees will learn all about Nebraska Wildlife Rehab's mission and what to expect from your volunteer experience.
The remainder of the orientation will include cleaning and diet prep training that will jumpstart your volunteer experience before being assigned specific Volunteer Role Training Class(es) of interest (i.e. Mammal Nursery Training Class, Bird Nursery Training Class, Statewide Transporter Training Class, etc.).
