What better way to celebrate wildlife, partnerships, and our community than by getting together all year long?  This year, we have dozens of programs and events planned, including:

  • Join us the second Wednesday of every month for a new topic! (Click on Wildlife Wednesdays above to learn more!)

  • If you would like to learn more about some of the macro photographic techniques Alex Wiles uses to capture images of insects, plants, and other tiny life, please join us for a hands-on photography workshop at Heron Haven on Saturday, August 17th from 9 AM to 11 AM. Registration is required and is $45 per person. (Click on the Wildlife Photography Link above to register!) Workshop participation is limited to 12 people, so be sure to register soon! A light breakfast will be provided, but be sure to bring plenty of water and insect repellent!

This workshop follows our August Wildlife Wednesday lecture: Wildlife Photography for Conservation. The details of that program are below:
Join wildlife photographer and filmmaker Alex Wiles for a conversation about using photography as a tool to help wildlife conservation around the world. Whether you’re photographing animals in your backyard or traveling halfway around the world, compelling images can educate the people around you and inspire a connection to the world that might have been previously overlooked. Alex is an emerging league photographer with the International League of Conservation Photographers and his work has been published in a variety of local and national media outlets.

This public event will be held at Heron Haven (11809 Old Maple Rd, Omaha) at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14th. The lecture is free and no RSVP is necessary for the public lecture; however, you must register for the workshop if you'd like to attend.

Check back regularly to get up-to-date information on all of our events! We hope to see you soon!
